Spirit of Freedom Rose
Spirit of Freedom is one of David Austin’s most romantic large-flowered English climbers, admired for its deeply cupped, densely petaled blooms and soft pink-lilac tones. Each flower opens with layers of delicately arranged petals, forming a rich rosette to globular shape that brings a classic, vintage elegance to the garden.
The fragrance is gentle yet distinctive, featuring a soft old-rose scent blended with light fruity notes. It blooms generously throughout the season, offering flush after flush of full, fragrant flowers from spring to frost.
Spirit of Freedom is vigorous and adaptable. It can be grown as a large shrub or trained as a climber on arches, walls, fences, or trellises. In ideal conditions, it easily reaches 8–12 feet as a climber, creating a luxurious, romantic display. Its disease resistance is good with regular care, and the plant performs well across a wide range of U.S. climates.

I bought this rose four years ago and it’s my best producer. The cuttings last for at least one to two weeks. I’ve had no issues with diseases and the maintenance is minimal. I would 100% recommend this rose to anyone.

I was afraid that the roses would not look good as they were to be delivered Friday and here it is the next Tuesday. There are still leaves and buds and the green sticks still look moist.
